The four main stars in Star Trek, other than Roddenberry and Barrett, were these four.

The Captains.

James Tiberius Kirk was born in 2233 in Riverside, Iowa on planet Earth. In 2246, Kirk, at age 13, was one of nine surviving eyewitnesses to the massacre of some 4,000 colonists at planet Tarsus IV by Kodos the Executioner. James Kirk lost his older brother, George Samuel Kirk (whom only James called "Sam"), and sister-in-law, Aurelan Kirk, on planet Deneva due to the invasion of Denevan neural parasites in 2267. Kirk's nephew, Peter Kirk, survived. Samuel Kirk had two other sons who were not on Deneva at the time of the tragedy.

  Patrick Stewart was born in Mirfield, Yorkshire, on Saturday, July 13, 1940. His father was a career soldier; his mother worked in industrial weaving. Because Mirfield, a river valley settlement of some 12,000 people, had a rich culture for a provincial town of its size, Stewart's stage experience started early. His involvement was encouraged when, at the age of twelve while in secondary school, he enrolled in an eight-day drama course, where he met some professional people who were very influential in his life.

Jean-Luc Picard was born in Labarre, France, Earth on Thursday, July 13 2305 to Maurice and Yvette Picard. As of 2379, both of his parents are deceased. His brother, Robert, and nephew, René, were his only remaining family and were killed in afire in 2371. He graduated from Starfleet in 2327.

Shortly after his graduation from Starfleet Academy, Picard was stationed on Starbase Earhart. While there, he was stabbed in the heart during a fight at the recreation center. The damage was irreparable, and it was replaced with an artificial heart. This event became a turning point for the young Picard in which he learned that his arrogance was the main reason he was nearly killed.

The now infamous and talented actor. Kate Mulgrew stared as Captain Kathryn Janeway, the captain of the starship USS Voyager, on Paramount Network Television's Star Trek: Voyager . As captain, it was Janeway's job to keep the crew hopeful as they struggled through the far reaches of the uncharted Delta Quadrant in search of a way home. As the first female to captain in a featured lead, Kate has stepped into television history. In commenting on her award-winning role, Mulgrew said, Beneath Captain Janeway's extraordinary control runs a very deep vein of vulnerability and sensitivity. (She) is the quintessential woman of the future--both commanding and discerning.

Perhaps, after Seven, Janeway is perhaps the most loved of all Start Trek characters. How many men would have loved to bodly go?

Sexy Kate Mulgrew

Captain Katherine Janeway, played by the amazingly sexy Kate Mulgrew, was born on Friday, April 29, 1955 and grew up in Dubuque, Iowa. She studied acting at New York University for three years before landing the TV role of Meg Ryan, in Ryan's Hope. 

Avery Franklin Brooks, Captain Sisko of Deep Space Nine, was born on Monday, April 18, 1949 and raised in Evansville, Indiana. His Father was a Union Rep and his mother was a musician. He attended Oberlin College, Indiana University. Brooks received his Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Acting and Directing and was the first African American to graduate in that field. Avery has been a tenured Professor of Theater at the Rutgers Mason Gross School of the Arts for the past 15 years.
He plays a variety of woodwind instruments and the Piano. He has appeared in Are You Now or Have You Ever Been,  on and off Broadway. He has played Othello at the Folger Theater in Washington D.C. He is the Artistic Director of the National Black Arts Festival.
Inducted into the College of Fellows of American Theater in April 1994. He was given an honorary Doctorate in Fine Arts from Oberlin College in May 1996 He has received a NAACP Image Award.
He was awarded the Lifelong Commitment to Arts and Education Award from Young Audiences of D.C.

The very beautiful Miss Whoopi Goldberg played the part of Guinan, a mystical alien, who was the most beautiful 600 year old we have ever seen. She was born Caryn Elaine Johnson, on Sunday, November 13, 1955 in the Chelsea projects of Manhattan. At only the age of eight, she was performing with the Children's Program at the Hudson Guild and the Helena Rubinstein Children's Theatre. After only two weeks attendance she dropped out of high school, she would later learn that she had dyslexia, which is why, like many others, she was often regarded as retarded by her teachers. In between  many long periods of unemployment, she worked as a bricklayer and funeral parlor make-up artist. Through depression and a hope of escape, she became a drug addict but that is how she met her first husband, Alvin Martin, a drug counselor. They married, separated,  had a daughter and Whoopi officially divorced Martin in 1979. This brazen, unabashed actor and comedienne, who transposes with ease between comedy, television and feature films, first made her mark with the movie-going public as Celie in Steven Spielberg's The Color Purple (1985) for which she earned an Academy Award nomination. 

Her famous and unique name came about due to her reputation for flatulence, she actually wanted to call herself  Whoopi Cushion, but her mother frowned on that, saying no one would take her seriously, as if Whoopi cared. Caryn insisted on keeping Whoopi and her mother suggested it sounded good with Goldberg, so she settled on Whoopi Goldberg.

One of Britain's most English and famous actors, has seemingly been around forever, without hardly ageing at all. 

She figured in a Star Trek episode along side Captain Kirk as his lover. As in all of Kirk's lovers she came to a tragic end. However, this episode became the most popular in the first ever series of Star Trek.

In 1992, Kelsey Grammer, now famous as Dr. Frasier Crane played a Commander in an episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation. He was saved by Picard and Co, after being locked in some time-loop for many decades.

Three-time Emmy Award winner Kelsey Grammer is the first actor in television history to receive multiple Emmy nominations for his performance in the same role on three different series. He received two nominations for his original portrayal of Dr. Frasier Crane on “Cheers,” another for his guest appearance in the role on NBC’s “Wings” and six nominations, which have earned him three Emmy Awards as Outstanding Lead Actor, for his work on “Frasier.

Sexy Ashley Judd, member of the famous Judd Family, famous Hollywood A-List Star appeared in two episode in Start Trek: The Next Generation in 1991. In one of these shows some lucky devil gave her, her first screen kiss.

Kirstie Louise Alley, was born on Friday, January 12, 1951 in Wichita, Kansas.   Kirstie  made  her    Big-Screen   debut  in Star Trek: The Wrath Of Khan, in 1982

In 1993, in a Star Trek: The Next Generation episode, aged only 11 years old, Spiderman's boring girlfriend, Kirsten Dunst, played an alien child named Hedril.
